At the house of Studio Matonge, we love objects that bring character and color to our interiors. The collection “Colour Me Bright” of Clementina van der Walt is a perfect example. Inspired by the african landscapes, both urban and rural, it combines vibrant hues and contrasting finishes, in a style that evokes both traditional patterns and the refined shapes of suprematism.
A craft with vibrant colors
From his workshop in Cape Town, Clementina van der Walt imagine ceramic pieces where theart and use come together. His collection Colour Me Bright plays on a bold palette: red, orange, yellow, sky blue, summer blue, lime green. Colors designed to complement each other, complement each other and energize each table.
The surfaces alternate between enameled and matt, creating a subtle play of textures that enhances minimalist forms. This approach, which evokes the suprematism, gives birth to tableware where the simplicity of the lines reinforces the impact of the colors.
“These pieces are designed to brighten up everyday moments. Their sparkle adds depth to every table, whether it’s a gentle breakfast or a warm dinner.”
A collection designed to be mixed
Each piece in this collection has been designed to work alone or in combination. The idea? To create a living table, modular and expressive, where each element dialogues with the others.
